About Kate

I have always had a passion for art. As a kindergarten student, my teacher had a difficult time keeping me away from doodling with crayons and colored pencils. Thankfully, my parents acknowledged my interest in art and allowed me to pursue formal art instruction at age eight through a local studio, Holt School of Fine Art. It was at Holt School of Fine Art that I mastered the elements of oil pastel, water color, and charcoal, all of which led me to my favorite medium, oil paint. Over the past ten years, I have had the privilege to create art for commissions, charity, mural projects, and, most importantly, for fun. Creating landscapes, which highlight the beauty of nature, is one of my favorite genres. Through my connection with the Holt School of Fine Art, I was able to continue my own artistic aspirations, lead camps for budding artists, and partner with them on community murals. This foundation allowed me to bring my art business to UNC, where I have participated in several artistic collaborations with Student-made UNC, Alpha Phi, and local Chapel Hill charities and businesses. I love to create and I put so much passion and effort into the hundreds of pieces I have composed. Some of my favorites are shown here. Enjoy!
